The troubled security situation in North Waziristan Agency of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) resulted in large scale displacement of local community to the neighboring Districts of Lakki Marwat, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan and Karak. Out of these districts Bannu is hosting the highest number of IDP’s. The difficult terrain, spread out communities, weak infrastructure, poor socio-economic indicators and repeated natural disasters further deteriorated the situation.
An inaugural ceremony of Master of Public Health (Health Management and Policy) Program was held at Prime Institute of Public Health (PIPH). The event was organized to welcome the newly inducted batch of MPH students and to provide them with an overview of program as well as the institute.
The one day event on “Mental Health issues in school children of KPK” was organized by Prime Institute of Public Health (PIPH) at Peshawar Medical College (PMC), in order to sensitize policy makers about mental issues faced by schoolchildren. The event was chaired by the Minister for Elementary & Secondary Education, Mr. Muhammad Atif Khan. Principals from public and private schools of Peshawar district, Government officials and experts from NGOs actively participated in the event.
