27th March, 2012 The vocational skills you learnt during the three months course at Prime IDRF Vocational Training give you an edge even over the women who are highly educated otherwise, but, by being unskilled find it hard to find an employment or self employ themselves. The course facilitates you in earning a genuine livelihood not only for your selves but also for your families. As gratitude every one of you must be very generous about passing on the skills to others around you. This was stated by Dr Abdul Aziz Zia, Director Relief PIMA yesterday at Nowshera while addressing the closing ceremony of the 4th and last series of the training under the project. He also distributed certificates and vocational toolkits among the passed out trainees.
Earlier in his welcome address, Dr Saeed Anwar, Director Project Support Unit of the Prime Foundation thanked the Chief Guest, Trainers and students for making the event, and the whole project a success. He further divulged that in view of its visible impact on economic rehab, Prime is committed to sustaining the initiative as a free opportunity for the flood affected women folk for another term through indigenous means at first instance, followed by exploring the avenues of funding support from other development for a.
The project closing was preceded around a week ago by a two days Exhibition in the Cantonment Community Hall of Nowshera. The exhibition was inaugurated by Mr. A’mir Masood, CEO Cant. Board. In his inaugural address he hailed the Prime IDRF joint venture as highly relevant for economic rehab & empowerment, and volunteered facilitation and support to sustenance of the initiative in whatever way they might be able to support. The exhibition showcased the tailoring and embroidery crafts of the flood affected women, and was visited by a huge number of visitors from across the district.
