The jury at BMJ South Asia Awards 2017 has selected Dr. Najib and Dr. Saeed' paper as Research Paper of the Year. The awards competition and ceremony was held in New Delhi, India.

The paper titled “Community engagement and integrated health and polio immunization campaigns in conflict-affected areas of Pakistan: a cluster randomized controlled trial” has been published in the Lancet Global Health and is a joint effort of teams at Peshawar Medical College and the Aga Khan University, Karachi.

BMJ Awards South Asia invited nominations from the region including Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, India, Bhutan, Myanmar and Maldives in numerous categories including healthcare quality, medical education, healthcare innovation and research. According to a news report more than 2000 high-quality nominations were received.

Dr. Saeed was grateful to the Almighty and attributed the success to seniors and colleagues at Peshawar Medical College and the Aga Khan University.
