4th, Nov. 2014, Prime Institute of Public Health (Prime Foundation) joins hands with Integrated Health Services (IHS) to train community midwives of Baluchistan, FATA, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir with funding from Technical Resource Facility (TRF). PIPH will be training more than 20 master trainers who will then impart training to more than 700 community midwives in the three regions.

The 10-day training, to be conducted at Peshawar Medical College, has the objectives of refreshing the technical skills of the midwives and training them in entrepreneurship. At completion of training, participating midwives will be equipped with enhanced technical/clinical and sound business generation skills. Participants will be trained in variety of topics including basic life support, infection prevention, assessment of vital signs, antenatal care, new-born care, pregnancy complications, management of labour, episiotomy, etc.

PIPH will also monitor the trainings of community midwives afterwards.
