Purpose
Provision of Emergency Nutrition Services for IDP's and host communities in Tank, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.
Services
- Continue screening/re-screening in the targeted UC’s using MUAC tape to establish baseline information and assess the impact on ongoing CMAM intervention
- Training/Refresher training of PRIME FOUNDATION project & Health Facility Staff on CMAM/IYCF
- Community outreach activities for mobilization, sensitization, absentee and default tracing and home visits.(Educate mothers/caretakers on proper use of the provided food and medication)
- Identification, registration & treatment of SAM cases in the program
- Identification & referral of SAM cases with medical complications to SC
- Active follow-up and retrieval of defaulters in SAM program
- Health education sessions on nutrition awareness , hygiene promotion and IYCF practices in health facility and community & distribution of IEC material
- Educating mothers/ caretakers on the proper use of MM supplements and IYCF practices
- Deworming of all children 24-59m of age as per protocols
Results
- The nutritional status of girls, boys and women is protected from the effects of humanitarian crisis
- Children, mothers and pregnant women benefit from high impact maternal. Newborn and child survival and development interventions
- Health nutrition behavior promoted at the facility and community level for prevention of malnutrition in early child hood
- Micronutrient deficiencies disorders in children and women prevented/treated in the target populations
