Purpose
Providing a unique approach to the development of women from flood affected districts by integrating economic rehabilitation with health literacy.
Features
- Teaching of vocational skills including beauty care, tailoring and embroidery
- A health education component, which will provide basic health education to the trainees, thus promoting health literacy
- A business support group to devise strategies for marketing of the products
- An display center for displaying the work of the trainees
- A vocational toolkit provision on successful completion of the course
Results
- The project will directly benefit 80 women by providing them with the means of income
- Indirect beneficiaries include 640 family members of these women
- The vocational training center will be handed over to the trainers who may continue proving this service in the locality and further contribute to the success of this intervention
